Get it on your phone
On iPhone and iPad, download QDD from the App Store; on Android, from Google Play — both in the United States and Canada for now. Everywhere else, and on desktop, QDD runs as a web app: once it’s on your home screen it behaves like any other app, with its own icon and no browser address bar.
In-app browsers can’t install the web app. Open this page in Safari or Chrome first.
If you tapped a link inside another app like Instagram, Facebook, Slack or your mail app, you’re in that app’s built-in browser, and it has no “add to home screen” option. Use its menu to open this page in your real browser, then follow the steps below.
iPhone and iPad
QDD is on the App Store — in the United States and Canada for now. If your Apple ID is in either, download it there.
Download on the App StoreIf your Apple ID is registered anywhere else — mainland China included — the store won’t show it yet, and a locked-down work phone may not let you install it either. Don’t wait: add the web app to your home screen instead; it works the same. Use Safari; it’s the reliable one, and other iPhone browsers don’t always offer this.
- Open app.qingdouding.com
- Tap Share at the bottom of the screen (the square with an arrow pointing up)
- Scroll down the sheet and tap View More
- Find Add to Home Screen in the list
- Tap Add at the top right. You can rename it first if you like
Android
QDD is on Google Play — in the United States and Canada for now. If your Google account is in either, download it there.
Get it on Google PlayIf your phone has no Google Play, or your account is registered anywhere else — mainland China included — don’t wait: add the web app to your home screen instead; it works the same. Chrome and Samsung Internet both do this. The wording differs a little, but it’s the same thing.
- Open app.qingdouding.com
- Open the menu (“⋮” or “≡” at the top right)
- Choose Install app, or Add to Home screen, whichever it offers
- Confirm
On a phone without Google Play services you’ll get a shortcut rather than a full install. It still opens full screen, but the icon may carry a small browser badge and it might not show up in your app drawer. If a bar offering to install pops up at the bottom of the page, tapping that is quicker.
Desktop
In Chrome or Edge, open app.qingdouding.com and look for the install icon at the right of the address bar. Click it, then Install. You’ll get its own window instead of another tab.
Once it’s installed
- Name: the icon says QDD. With the web app on iPhone you can change it as you add it.
- Updates: from the App Store or Google Play, it updates like any other app. The web app needs nothing — you get the latest version every time you open it.
- Removing it: press and hold the icon and delete it, same as any app. Your data lives in your account, so nothing’s lost.
